Li Chenghan is a veteran antique repairer, with more than 20 years of experience in Changchun city, Jilin province. Because of his superb skills at restoring broken antiques, he's earned the nickname, "Doctor" by people who love to collect ancient objects.
This year, Li won a bronze medal in jewelry design at the 9th International Abilympics, the world's largest skills competition featuring people with disabilities.
Li was born into a family of craftsmen. He said his interest in antique repair began in childhood.
As a teenager he fell ill, leading to mobility difficulties that meant he could not go to school. However, Li didn't give up. He started to study traditional skills day and night during that difficult time.
Now, he is a master in antique repair and wants to teach students, even at no charge, so the traditional skills can be passed to another generation.
