The Harbin International Beer Festival 2015 will open in the city of Harbin, Heilongjiang province, at its Ice and Snow World Park Zone in the Songbei district, on June 25, and run for 12 days, offering 30 beer brands from China and abroad under the theme “Toast on the bank of Songhua River, drunk in the beautiful City of Ice”.
The festival covers a 600,000-square–meter space and will have 15 beer greenhouses, 11 beer gardens, 20 special booths, and two summer-product streets. The domestic brands on offer are Harbin, Qingdao, Yanjing, and others, while the international brands amount to more than 20, including Landsburg, Guinness, and Krombacher.
This year’s festival is considered richer and more colorful than last year's, with such activities as a "home-brewed beer appreciation and tasting" event and a “lawn music garden”. The park area has a scenic spot called "Chinese fish" and a lawn for a music and recreation area for tourists. The home-brewed beer appreciation and tasting gives visitors a chance to taste foreign hops.
And, in addition to the land transportation, this festival adds water transportation so tourists can get to the festival directly by boat. Festival organizers have also cooperated with travel agencies this year and have some boat packages, as a key travel route.
There will also be pop music singers like Zhang Zhenyue and Dingdang from Taiwan, and members of "Voice of China", a popular music TV show, Bixia, and Xuanxuan to cheer up the festival.
