The city of Changchun, capital of Jilin province is playing host to a shopping fair featuring brands from the UK, May 22 - 31, in its Zhuozhan Shopping Center, the first fair of its kind in Northeast China.
It has 26 renowned brands on display, some of them making their first appearance in China, for example "Idea Coffee", LYDC handbags, and some brands with appointment to the British royal family, such as the Fulton umbrella, favored by the Queen Elizabeth, Kent comb, Halcyon Days jewelry, and Launer handbags.
China and the UK trade ties are increasing and Chinese customer demand for top UK brands is growing. And this fair gives that part of society a great chance to learn more about British brands and culture.
Peter Williams, head of the China-Britain Business Council's North office, and Bo Zhongtang, vice-director of Changchun Foreign Affairs Office, were present at the opening ceremony of the fair, which is organized by the China-Britain Business Council, British Chamber of Commerce in China, UK Trade & Investment in China, Commerce Ministry foreign trade development office, Jilin Commerce Bureau, and Changchun Foreign Affairs Office.
