With the fully loaded cargo flight departing from Harbin Taiping International Airport for Russia's Yekaterinburg for the 47th time, Harbin's retail export value to Russia exceeded $100 million on July 25, ranking first in the national retail export field.
This cargo-only flight has carried nearly a thousand tons of goods to Yekaterinburg since last November, boosting the cross-border business to become a new engine for Harbin's economic growth.
So far, Harbin airport has opened five air routes to Russia—two cargo-only flights to Yekaterinburg and Aktobe, and three cargo/passenger flights to Novosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk and Moscow.
With nearly 20 flights flying between Harbin and Russian cities, buyers in Russia can purchase their favorite goods through e-commerce platforms such as come365, foxmall, rubest and easybuy, enjoying a delivery within a week or two.
As China's first border warehouse for e-commerce with Russia began operations in Harbin in June, the cross-border e-commerce in Harbin will be further promoted, bringing more business opportunities to the city in Northeast China's border area. (China Daily)
