Speed Skating Championship Underway in Harbin

The 2018 National Sports School Short Track Speed Skating Championship kicked off at the Heilongjiang Ice-sports Training Center in Harbin city on Dec 16.

The championship will last three days until Dec 18 and has attracted the participation of 18 representative teams from across the nation.

Participants can choose from two levels of speed skating competitions, namely U14 and U12.

Skaters compete for medals in the men’s and women’s 500 meters, 1,000 meters, 1,500 meters, 2,000 meters and 3,000 meters relay races.

Prizes in 16 competition categories will be awarded during the three-day event.

The championship is sponsored by the youth department of General Administration of Sports of China and organized by China Sport School Federation and Heilongjiang Sports Bureau.
